    The little legal things you should read before making a booking...

    These terms of sale apply to all bookings made from our website www.chocolaterie.brussels and any online support using our Bokun widget.
    It also apply to all bookings made thru our widget especially on Google Things To Do.
    If you book your class or public workshop from one of our partners then please note that other terms apply.
    Every partner offer its own cancellation policy so you should read their websites carefully.
    This webpage (together with the documents referred to on it) defines the terms and conditions on which we enable you to make a booking for any of our classes or workshops (‘events’) listed in our publications, flyers, newsletters, social media and on our website. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before booking any of our events. You should understand that by booking any of our events, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please understand that if you refuse to accept these terms and conditions, you will not be able to book any of our events.

    Prices and payments

    The price of any of our events are available on our website. Prices listed are exclusive of VAT (if VAT is applicable) at the prevailing rate unless otherwise stated.
    If you select a discount, you must be able to provide the required proof of entitlement upon entry to the event. Failure to do so may result in additional payment or refusal of entry.
    Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect bookings in respect of which we have already sent you a booking confirmation, except in cases of obvious error.
    You may pay for your booking online by credit and debit card. Credit and debit card payments made online through our website are processed by a secure payment collection service. Our online payment processing is undertaken by Stripe, a leading secure internet payment service provider.
    To successfully process your online booking, we will take your name and other details and then you will be transferred to a secure page to enter your credit or debit card details and finalise the payment process. Stripe will need to know certain information about you in order to process payment for the booking and you hereby consent to the transfer by us to Stripe such information.

    Special offers

    We reserve the right, from time to time, to run special promotional offers on events. Special offers may include, but are not limited to, price promotions. In the event of a special Offer, additional terms and conditions may apply which will be made available at the time of booking.

    Confirmation of booking

    After a successful payment for your booking you will receive an email from us acknowledging that we have received your booking. Your booking is automatically confirmed.
    The contract between us (‘contract’) is formed when we receive full payment for the booking.

    Instructions

    You will receive instructions confirming timing and address of venue once your booking has been processed. If you have not received this a few minutes afterthe booking process please contact us. Prior to contacting us, please ensure you have checked your email inbox as well as your spam and junkmail, just in case the instructions have been sent to these inboxes by your email client.

    Code of conduct

    We require all event attendees to abide by a code of conduct when attending one of our classes or workshops. By agreeing to the terms and conditions of booking you are also agreeing to conduct yourself safely and respectfully in line with this code of conduct.
    Any guests arriving to our workshops visibly intoxicated may be refused entry with no refund given. Being drunk is not an excuse for not following the code of conduct.
    We operate a strict policy to relieve our staff from intolerable behaviour. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Unwanted physical contact towards any employee
    • Public disturbance
    • Vandalism and damage
    • Indecent exposure
    • Disregard for public safety
    Our staff are all instructed to stop a workshop immediately once a group do not respect our code of conduct.
    If this occurs, no refund will be awarded.
    You are responsible for arriving on time.
    Our chocolate workshops always start 5 minutes after the advertised start time. Unless otherwise stated, the advertised start time is when last entry will be allowed.
    Anyone arriving to the workshop after this time will be refused entry and not eligible for refund.
    Please aim to arrive with at least 20 minutes before the advertised start time. No refund will be awarded to any reduced service or event termination due to late arrival.

    Class and workshop content

    We reserve the right to make changes to the published programme of a class or workshop (but not the overall content), for example to timings and/or chocolate makers if one of the advertised chocolate makers is unable to attend. In such cases, you will not be entitled to a refund if you cancel your place.
    We cannot accept kids (6-12 years old) on their own participating in our chocolate workshops. We always request an adult supervision.
    At least one adult booking is requested when a booking is made for one or more kids from 6 to 12 years old.
    We do not accept kids less than 6 years old. Age verification can be requested at the entrance.

    Venue

    The meeting point is always our booking desk located Place de la Justice 5. You are required to queue before our booking desk a minimum of 20mns before the starting time. Toilets are available at our booking desk.
    From our booking desk, we will check your tickets first. We will provide you with a welcome pack and a wristband that will allow you then to access the activity. You will be told at that moment which location you need to go. A member of our staff will bring you by walking to the allocated workshop.
    Our classes and workshops are held at one of our two locations in Brussels, one is located Rue Lebeau 7/11 and the other is located at Rue de Namur 6. Both our places are very close to each other (10mns by walking). You acknowledge that we may have to change the published venue for the event for reasons beyond our control and in such cases, you will not be entitled to cancel unless the change in venue represents a significant disadvantage to you.
    You are liable for any loss or damage which you may cause to our premises or that of the external venue and agree to adhere to all housekeeping rules, procedures and policies (including policies as to behaviour and conduct) that may be in place at any venue from time to time.
    If you have a disability or medical condition that requires special arrangements to be made, or specific dietary requirements, please notify us of your requirements when making your booking.

    Cancellation and refund policy

    When booking from our website please understand our refund policy.

    All bookings are final. No refund will be made for cancellations or for non-attendance.
    Refunds for additional options such as aprons and Champagne when cancelled by the attendee(s), will be made on a case by case basis.

    We reserve the right at any time and without prior warning to change the venue of the event and/or chocolate makers from those described in the programme. We also reserve the right in our absolute discretion, to cancel your booking where we need to do so due to circumstances outside of our control (including, but not limited to, situations where sufficient numbers have not booked for the event or the chocolate makers are unavailable or cancel the event or if you are more than 30 days in arrears with any payment due to us, or if it may prejudice our reputation). We shall have no liability for losses or costs which you may incur due to such cancellation but we shall refund your booking payment (in full as soon as possible) or offer you an alternative event if one is available. You have the choice of accepting the refund, a credit note or attending the alternative event.
    We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase but reserve the right to refund using an alternative method.

    Upgrade of the refund policy

    During the booking process, you can upgrade your refund terms and receive a 100% refund if you cannot attend for one of the many reasons in our additional terms and conditions, which you accept when you upgrade your refund terms.
    • Sickness, accident and injury
    • Public transport failure
    • Private vehicle failure
    • Home emergency
    • Immediate relative sickness
    • Relocation for work
    • Pre-existing medical conditions
    • And many more..
    In case you have upgraded your refund policy during the booking process you can ask for a refund using this online form in case of cancellation.

    Rights in materials

    All copyright and other rights (including all intellectual property rights) in materials provided to you during or for the purposes of any of our workshops (including, without limitation, course notes, slides, brochures, articles or case studies) are the property of The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL. You are entitled to use such materials only for your own personal use. You are not entitled to copy such materials (except as permitted by law) nor are you entitled to use or authorise others to use such materials for any commercial purposes.

    Images

    We often take photographs during the workshops for marketing purposes. By attending any of our events, you are giving us permission to use images in which you may be present. In addition, these images may be shared and stored on third-party platforms. Should you not wish to appear in any images, please notify the staff at the event.

    Our liability

    Event attendees shall be required to keep their personal belongings with them at all times and we accept no liability for damage to, or loss of, personal belongings. We do not accept any responsibility for any loss (including, without limitation, theft) of any property occasioned on our premises or at external venues save for any damage caused by our negligence in which circumstances our liability shall be limited to the amount of our insurance for such losses.
    We will not be responsible to you or any third party for any business loss (including loss of revenue, profits, contracts, anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, data or goodwill) or any other loss or damage which does not result directly from our actions.
    Nothing in these event booking terms and conditions excludes our liability to you for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.

    Events outside our control

    The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL shall not be liable for the delay or cancellation of an event, if the delay or cancellation is caused by circumstances or events outside our reasonable control. A Force Majeure event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes (without limitation) the following:
    • Strikes or industrial action
    • Riot, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack or war
    • Fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster
    • Impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport
    • Impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks
    • The acts, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government
    Our performance under any contract is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure event continues. We will use our reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under the contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure event.

    Written communications

    We will contact you by email or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.

    Advertising

    We may use photographs taken during the workshop in advertising and marketing materials, including use on our website. Your attendance at one of our workshops may mean that you are featured in such photographs and you are deemed not to object to the taking of such photographs as detailed above. If you do not wish to be included in any photograph, please notify the staff at the relevant workshop prior to the photographs being taken.

    Our right to vary these terms

    We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time to reflect changes in technology, changes in payment methods, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our system's capabilities.
